Research Fellow - RTL Scientist for Heterogeneous Systems

About the role

The Continental-NTU Corp Lab is a research collaboration between NTU and Continental, working on sustainable materials, AI, advanced communications and cybersecurity for future urban mobility. The lab seeks a Research Fellow or Senior Researcher (full-time) to join its team focused on heterogeneous integration and security of chiplet-based IC systems, researching chiplet architectures that deliver secure intelligent computing platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research on hetero-design and chiplet-based systems, with a focus on the security of components and interconnects across chiplets
• Develop new IC design concepts for embedded ARM and RISC-V architectures
• Investigate system design topics such as topology exploration, routing algorithms, protocol and flow control design, chiplet and interposer strategies, SiP and chiplet architecture, fault tolerance, robustness and reliability
• Design functional and cryptographic agility in hardware, including hardware security functions, hardware root-of-trust and cryptographic agility
• Prototype and design chiplet-oriented architectures and NoC enhancements
• Contribute to the long-term research strategy, white papers and vision documents
• Publish high-quality research in top-tier conferences and journals

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a closely related field
• Demonstrated research expertise in IC front-end design, chiplet design, heterogeneous integration, cryptographic hardware engineering, system-level modelling and simulation
• Proven publication record in peer-reviewed venues
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and system-level thinking skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-disciplinary team

Required skills

• Strong background in IC front-end design, interconnection networks and security architectures
• Knowledge of tools such as Xilinx Vivado, Cadence Virtuoso and Synopsys
