Research Fellow / Senior Research Fellow, Healthy Aging

About the role

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) is looking for a Research Fellow or Senior Research Fellow to join its Centre for Geroscience and Geromedicine. The work focuses on translational bat immunology and aging research, within a group led by Nanyang Assistant Professor Matae Ahn, a pioneer in bat immunology. Projects draw on bats' exceptional healthy longevity to develop bat-inspired targets and strategies against human disease and aging, with several national and international collaborations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, document and report experimental results and research findings accurately.
• Drive research through data analysis and literature reviews across projects.
• Evaluate and interpret data, and prepare oral presentations, written reports and manuscripts for publication.
• Contribute to project management, including supervising students and running laboratory demonstrations where applicable.
• Carry out other related duties.

Required profile

• PhD in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Veterinary Science or a related field.
• Prior experience in animal work with tissue processing/histology or AI/bioinformatics analysis is highly preferred.
• Prior experience in immunology or aging is preferred but not compulsory for candidates with a strong academic and/or research record.
• Effective organizational and interpersonal communication, with excellent written and oral skills and computer skills.
• A team player who can prioritize, multi-task and work collaboratively.
