Research Fellow / Senior Research Fellow – Low‑Temp Electron Transport

About the role

The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences at Nanyang Technological University seeks highly motivated researchers to lead experimental work on low‑temperature electron transport in 2D and topological materials. Two positions are open: a Research Fellow / Senior Research Fellow and a Project Officer for the experimental condensed matter physics laboratory.

Key responsibilities

• Lead low‑temperature electronic measurements using a dilution refrigerator (BlueFors LD250) with vector magnet.
• Procure equipment and consumables, and manage laboratory inventory.
• Maintain, service, and troubleshoot cryogenic equipment.
• Co‑supervise graduate and undergraduate research students.
• Prepare and publish high‑impact research papers.

Required profile

• PhD in experimental condensed matter physics (minimum 5 years experience for Senior Research Fellow).
• Proven record of high‑impact research and publications.
• Excellent scientific writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Required skills

• Low‑temperature electronic measurement (T ≤ 4.2 K).
• Operation and maintenance of dilution refrigerators, preferably BlueFors systems.
• Cryogenics handling and safety procedures.
• Experience with device nanofabrication and crystal growth techniques.
