Resident Architect

About the role

The Resident Architect will lead the architectural supervision of building projects, ensuring that all design and construction activities comply with contractual, regulatory and client requirements. This senior position involves close coordination with contractors, the architectural team, and safety officers to deliver high‑quality, safe, and timely project outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide supervision services for all architectural works, verifying contractor compliance with contracts and authority requirements.
• Oversee the architectural team and personnel, issuing necessary endorsements.
• Review drawings and specifications, flagging discrepancies, non‑workable or missing details to the Officer‑in‑Charge (OIC) and Qualified Persons.
• Comment on construction method statements, risk assessments, work plans, Design for Safety (DfS) workshops and SOP proposals.
• Prepare and supervise site supervision plans, monitor project progress, and produce status reports for the client.
• Ensure adherence to statutory codes, quality‑control procedures and safety regulations.
• Conduct roving safety inspections, manage emergency and incident responses, and report accidents or near‑misses.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in architectural and fit‑out works, with at least 5 years on major building projects.
• Degree recognised by the Board of Architects (BOA).
• Strong knowledge of statutory codes, construction administration and progress reporting.
• Proven leadership abilities and familiarity with Workplace Safety & Health Manual procedures.
