Resident Engineer – Building Projects

About the role

The Resident Engineer will oversee building construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, regulations and client requirements. This role involves close coordination with contractors, consultants and internal teams to deliver high‑quality outcomes on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor site works to ensure method statements and procedures are strictly followed.
• Supervise structural works, identify non‑conformities and enforce corrective actions.
• Review drawings and shop drawings for discrepancies, propose solutions to avoid delays.
• Conduct quality inspections and control of materials, maintain inspection and safety records.
• Update site progress records, prepare reports and verify contractors’ progress payments and claims.
• Witness inspection, testing and commissioning sessions to confirm compliance with designs.
• Report quality and progress to the Project QP/Consultants team.
• Supervise foundation, ERSS and other design works, and coordinate with site supervisors for C&S, architectural and M&E works.
• Ensure compliance with BCA criteria, health and safety regulations (MOM) and attend project meetings.

Required profile

• Minimum degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Resident Engineer Certificate accredited by IES/ACES.
• Familiarity with statutory codes and local building requirements.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
