Resident Physician, Advanced Internal Medicine (NUHS@Home)

About the role

NUHS@Home is a hospital-at-home programme under the Division of Advanced Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine, National University Hospital. It provides hospital-level acute care to patients in their own homes using remote patient monitoring, video consultation, home visits and point-of-care investigations. The Resident Physician works under the supervision of a Medicine Consultant and delivers acute care to patients in their homes.

Key responsibilities

• Take patient histories, conduct assessments, develop and implement care plans and manage acute illnesses
• Join daily virtual team rounds with the interdisciplinary team to review patient progress and update care plans
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients and their families so they understand their care plan
• Use remote patient monitoring and video consultation to improve patient care and safety
• Carry out home visits and point-of-care investigations as required
• Follow NUHS@Home policies and procedures and keep accurate, complete medical records

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognized by the Singapore Medical Council
• Eligible for registration with the Singapore Medical Council
• At least 2 years of postgraduate clinical experience in an acute care setting
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
• Compassionate and empathetic towards patients and their families
• Willingness to adopt new technologies and innovative ways of delivering care
• Ability to work independently and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment
