Resident Technical Officer (C&S) – Construction Site Supervision

About the role

The Resident Technical Officer (C&S) will act as the on‑site supervisor, ensuring that all construction activities are executed safely, on schedule, and in full compliance with contract specifications, drawings, and statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise timely execution of works, maintain quality control, and verify compliance with contract documents and site instructions.
• Review drawings and specifications for discrepancies, report issues to the Officer‑in‑Charge (OIC), and ensure corrective actions.
• Inspect materials, samples, and workmanship; prepare defect lists and monitor rectification progress.
• Ensure structural elements and critical works follow approved plans and statutory regulations.
• Attend and minute site, progress, variation, QA/QC, and coordination meetings.
• Resolve queries from main contractors and coordinate activities with other trades.
• Assist with handover of completed works and maintain up‑to‑date project records.
• Coordinate building and civil & structural services and work with the safety team to uphold maximum site safety.
• Perform any additional ad‑hoc duties as required.

Required profile

• Diploma in Civil or Structural Engineering (Polytechnic or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a Resident Technical Officer, including at least 2 years supervising deep excavation, drainage, pipe jacking, ground improvement, and monitoring instrument installation.
• Willingness to work shift patterns, including night shifts.
• Valid 2025 RTO Certification accredited by IES.
