Retail Assistant – Cake Shop (Contract)

About the role

We are looking for a Retail Assistant to work in our cake shop. The role involves customer service, cash handling and basic food preparation. Training will be provided.

Key responsibilities

• Customer service, order‑taking, cashiering and point‑of‑sale operation.
• Handle cash payments and tally daily cash settlement with the Outlet Supervisor.
• Pack, display and replenish cakes, breads, pastries and related products.
• Perform basic food or beverage preparation where trained and authorised.
• Conduct stock checks, receive deliveries, rotate products and monitor expiry dates.
• Maintain food‑safety, hygiene and workplace‑safety standards, including wearing gloves when handling food.
• Clean and maintain the shop area to ensure high standards of cleanliness.

Required profile

• No prior experience required; training will be provided.
• Willingness to work six days a week, including weekends and public holidays.
• Pleasant personality with good work ethics (integrity, teamwork, punctuality, respect).
• Basic customer service skills.
• Ability to follow food safety and hygiene procedures.
