Robotics Software Intern

About the role

BeeX is developing advanced Hovering Autonomous Underwater Vehicles and is looking for a Robotics Software Intern to join its multidisciplinary team. You will work closely with the Electrical and Software groups, reporting directly to the Software Lead, and gain exposure to the full lifecycle of deep‑tech products from design to commercialization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop middleware drivers that connect hardware components to the robotics software stack.
• Integrate the robotics stack with the overall software architecture.
• Test and debug robotics algorithms using software‑in‑the‑loop simulations.
• Perform data association on detected objects for localisation and tracking.
• Create autonomous mission‑planning software that is mission‑critical and safe for operations.

Required profile

• Motivated by seeing users adopt your software solutions.
• Comfortable working on‑site and in the field, including sea trials in adverse weather.
• Eager to learn how startups grow and operate.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively across sub‑teams.
• Positive learning mindset with quick knowledge absorption and application.

Required skills

• Experience with Robot Operating System (ROS) framework.
• Proficient programming in Python and C++ on Linux.
• Integration of sensor and actuator hardware.
• Knowledge of perception and fusion algorithms.
• Familiarity with OpenCV and computer‑vision techniques.
• Experience with Point Cloud Library (PCL) and tracking filters.
