SAP Basis Consultant

About the role

The SAP Basis Consultant will join the Centre of Excellence to provide expert-level support, governance and optimisation of the organisation's SAP landscape. You will work with cross‑functional teams to implement upgrades, migrations and new solutions while ensuring system stability, performance and security.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, patch and upgrade SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, CRM, Fiori, BTP, etc.).
• Design and maintain optimal SAP configurations for high availability and performance.
• Manage SAP users, authorisations, profiles and background job workloads.
• Oversee OS scripts, data interfaces, printing subsystems and SAP database administration (HANA and Oracle).
• Perform SAP performance tuning, monitoring and troubleshooting (work processes, logs, short dumps, locks, etc.).
• Define and enforce Basis standards, policies and procedures within the COE.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
• Collaborate with functional teams (MM, SD, FI, etc.) and explore AIOps/DevOps integration.
• Work on SAP BTP services, SAC and cloud connectors.
• Maintain documentation, status reporting and act as L3 escalation point for critical issues.

Required profile

• 7‑10 years of experience in SAP Basis administration within a multinational, global services or SAP consultancy environment.
• Proven experience with SAP ECC, S/4HANA, BW, Solution Manager and SAP HANA.
• Strong background in database administration (HANA, Oracle) and system performance optimisation.
• Experience working in a global, cross‑functional team and handling complex upgrade projects.
