Securities Transfer Specialist

About the role

Julius Baer is looking for a Securities Transfer Specialist to process security transfer instructions for clients covering its Singapore and Hong Kong booking centres. The role covers equities, fixed income, funds, structured products, derivatives and physical precious metals, and involves opening custody accounts with custodian banks and maintaining static data in the core banking system.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with internal departments and external sub-custodians, custodians, agents and counterparties so that daily work meets organisational standards
• Monitor client queries and respond or hold replies within a reasonable timeframe
• Enter transfer instructions received from clients into the core banking system, ensuring they pass pre-trade validation checks
• Submit requests for security master creation when an instrument is not available in the system
• Maintain counterparty SSI in the core banking system and ensure instructions sent to custodians are in good order
• Clear Swift exception queues daily and ensure timely payment of stamp duty, taxes and fees where applicable
• Take part in user acceptance testing when required
• Act with honesty, integrity, due care and diligence, manage conflicts of interest and comply with applicable laws and regulations

Required profile

• Diploma or degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience in banking or a related discipline
• Good communication skills and ability to interact with people at all levels
• High level of integrity, initiative, independence and teamwork; able to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
• Service-oriented mindset

Required skills

• Good knowledge of securities products such as equities, fixed income, funds, structured products and derivatives
• Experience in security transfer and knowledge of SWIFT (MT5xx) is an advantage
• Proficiency in MS Office
