Security Specialist – Detection & Response

About the role

Join TikTok’s Global Security Organization as a Security Specialist on the Threat Detection and Response team. You will help protect the platform for over a billion users by monitoring, detecting, and responding to cyber, privacy, and data‑protection incidents 24x7.

Key responsibilities

• Act as incident commander, coordinating cross‑functional stakeholders throughout the incident lifecycle.
• Perform technical analysis of security incidents, including malware, packet‑level, and system‑level forensic investigations.
• Develop and maintain incident response plans, playbooks, and containment/eradication procedures.
• Collaborate with Detection Engineering to create custom detection rules and hunt for advanced threat actor tactics.
• Lead projects that improve detection and response capabilities across the organization.
• Support onboarding of new products, data, and tools by integrating security requirements into processes and training.

Required profile

• Proven experience handling computer security incidents in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of multiple operating systems, especially Linux and macOS.
• Ability to communicate technical details to executive management and provide actionable recommendations.
