Senior Academic Researcher (Remote)

About the role

This remote senior research role focuses on evaluating and improving artificial intelligence systems through rigorous, data‑driven experimentation. You will contribute to the creation of safer, more reliable AI tools that are deployed across a variety of industries.

Key responsibilities

• Design and run controlled experiments to probe AI model behavior under diverse conditions and edge cases.
• Produce structured reports that combine quantitative results, qualitative observations, and actionable recommendations.
• Detect recurring failure patterns or biases in model outputs and suggest targeted refinements to architecture or training data.
• Collaborate with external contributors and academic peers to validate hypotheses and refine research methodologies.
• Stay current with AI research trends, benchmark datasets, and evaluation frameworks.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a closely related quantitative field.
• Proven experience designing and conducting empirical AI studies with an emphasis on reproducibility.
• Strong written communication skills demonstrated through peer‑reviewed publications or technical reports.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Experience with AI/ML libraries such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Data analysis tools including pandas and NumPy.
• Statistical analysis, experimental design, and hypothesis testing applied to model evaluation.
