Senior Accountant – OPEX & Lease Accounting (Petaling Jaya)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. You will work closely with the Assistant Finance Manager to ensure accurate accounting and reporting of operating and leasing expenses.

Key responsibilities

• Review and recognise operating and leasing expenses in line with accounting standards.
• Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, including variance analysis and commentary.
• Draft accounting treatments and process documentation for OPEX and lease recognition.
• Review accruals, pre‑payments and lease audit schedules.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and assist with offshore journal processing.
• Support internal and external audit activities.
• Perform ad‑hoc finance tasks as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of audit or commercial accounting experience; audit background is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, self‑motivated and able to work under pressure.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP or a comparable ERP system.
• Working knowledge of IFRS 16 lease accounting.
