Senior Accounting Analyst - APAC Revenue

About the role

Illumina is hiring a Senior Accounting Analyst for its General Accounting team, based at its regional headquarters in Singapore. The role focuses on specialized accounting areas such as US GAAP technical accounting and local statutory reporting for the APAC region, with a strong emphasis on revenue recognition and other accounting matters. It involves working through complex issues, driving process improvements and taking part in business expansion initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage one or more functional accounting processes for the APAC region, such as revenue, inventory, leases, fixed assets and projects
• Manage operational and month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, analytical reviews and reporting for US GAAP
• Balance global systems and processes with local country-specific regulations
• Maintain Sarbanes-Oxley internal control narratives and testing documentation, and take part in quarterly reviews, annual audits and project testing
• Drive and/or participate in process improvement initiatives and perform other general accounting duties as assigned

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting/Finance; Chartered Accountant/CPA is a plus
• Minimum 5 years of related experience
• Accounting/finance experience in MNCs and/or Big 4 firms; life science and/or manufacturing experience is a plus
• Ability to work independently, multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and communicate well with internal and external stakeholders
• Proven track record of driving projects and process improvements

Required skills

• US GAAP and IFRS
• SAP and Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
• Revenue recognition under ASC 606 / IFRS 15 is a plus
