Senior AI Architect - AI Innovation & Discovery

About the role

As a Senior AI Architect you will lead applied research into emerging AI technologies and translate insights into strategic recommendations for SAP’s product and engineering teams. You will act as a trusted advisor on AI trends, helping the business understand capabilities, risks, and opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct applied research on foundation models, agentic AI frameworks, and enterprise AI platforms.
• Monitor industry, academic, and market developments to assess impact on enterprise AI adoption.
• Produce research papers, technical briefs, architecture recommendations, and innovation reports.
• Partner with product owners, managers, architects, and engineering teams to identify innovation opportunities and shape platform road‑maps.
• Research multi‑agent systems, orchestration frameworks, reasoning approaches, and autonomous workflow patterns.
• Develop reference architectures, best‑practice guides, and reusable accelerators for engineering teams.
• Collaborate on lightweight experiments, prototypes, and proof‑of‑concepts to validate research findings.

Required profile

• Proven experience in AI research and technology discovery at an enterprise scale.
• Strong ability to translate business challenges into research initiatives.
• Excellent communication skills to advise stakeholders on emerging AI capabilities and risks.
• Track record of influencing product strategy and platform road‑maps.
