Senior Android Developer – Consumer Banking Group Technology

About the role

We're hiring experienced Senior Android Engineers to join our banking mobile app team. You'll build new features, keep the app fast and stable, and help grow junior engineers through mentoring and code reviews. This is a hands‑on engineering role.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and ship new features for a hybrid banking app.
• Profile and optimise app performance and memory usage.
• Apply security best practices in day‑to‑day development.
• Write clean, tested and maintainable code.
• Review code and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with product, design, QA and web teams in an Agile environment.
• Take features from development through CI/CD to Play Store release.

Required profile

• Proven track record of shipping and maintaining production apps on Google Play.
• Strong skills in Kotlin and Java with solid understanding of the Android SDK.
• Experience with UI development using Jetpack Compose and XML layouts.
• Familiarity with reactive programming (RxJava, Kotlin Coroutines/Flow) and modern architecture patterns (MVVM, MVP, Clean Architecture).
• Knowledge of dependency injection (Dagger, Hilt, Koin) and networking (Retrofit, OkHttp, REST APIs).
• Hands‑on experience with local data storage (Room, SQLite) and multi‑module Gradle builds.
• Ability to optimise performance, fix memory leaks, and improve app startup time.
• Understanding of mobile security best practices (Android Keystore, certificate pinning, code obfuscation).
• Proficiency in unit and UI testing (JUnit, Mockito/MockK, Espresso) and CI/CD pipelines.
