Senior Assistant Director – Research Grants & Development

About the role

The College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at NTU is looking for a Senior Assistant Director to lead research grant development. The role partners with the Associate Dean (Research), faculty and school research teams to strengthen proposals, build funding pipelines and improve grant outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Advise faculty on funding opportunities and guide preparation of competitive grant proposals.
• Review proposal narratives, budgets and ensure compliance with funding agency requirements.
• Support researchers through pre‑award and post‑award processes.
• Shape ideas into fundable projects and foster interdisciplinary collaborations.
• Organise workshops and small‑group sessions on grant writing and funding schemes.
• Maintain links with funding agencies and university offices, communicating policy changes.

Required profile

• A recognised bachelor’s degree (postgraduate qualification preferred).
• 8–10 years of experience in research development, grant management or a similar university/research setting.
• Strong writing and editing abilities with experience reviewing research proposals.
• Good understanding of grant application processes, budgeting and compliance.
• Ability to work across disciplines with early‑career and senior researchers.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
