Senior Assistant Manager – Laboratory Services

About the role

NTU’s School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering is seeking a Senior Assistant Manager to lead the management and support of its laboratory facilities. The role focuses on chiller systems, HVAC infrastructure and the overall readiness of research and teaching labs, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and oversee renovation and upgrade projects for laboratories, aligning with user requirements, timelines and budgets.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, contractors and consultants to guarantee compliance with safety regulations and university standards.
• Provide technical support for research and teaching activities, including equipment setup, troubleshooting and infrastructure preparation.
• Develop and implement maintenance procedures, technical guidelines and conduct root‑cause analysis for equipment issues.
• Design and deliver training programmes to enhance staff capabilities and promote knowledge sharing.
• Manage the structural facilities of all labs within the School of EEE.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting laboratory environments, equipment installation or infrastructure retrofitting.
• Strong project management and coordination abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with diverse stakeholders.
• Self‑motivated, responsible and proactive in coordinating tasks across internal and external parties.
