Senior Associate - Digital Tax (Corporate Tax Business Analyst)

About the role

PwC's Digital Tax team combines tax and technology subject matter experts to transform and automate business processes such as corporate income tax, transfer pricing and goods and services tax, using off-the-shelf applications and bespoke products. As a Senior Associate in this unit, you will work on tax technology strategy and solutions, partnering with clients and internal stakeholders to drive value.

Key responsibilities

• System implementation: understand business requirements, develop functional and non-functional specifications and work with business and tech developers on new development or enhancements of existing technology solutions.
• Bridge the gap between tech and business users by aligning requirements, developing business requirement documents (BRDs) and supporting project managers end-to-end.
• Data and systems effectiveness: embed tax needs into IT systems to increase automation and data quality, and automate tax processing, compliance and reporting.
• User experience: ensure the usability and suitability of IT systems and solutions.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience; a strong corporate tax background is essential.
• Ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Self-starter who uses tools and technology to solve problems.

Required skills

• Understanding of the software development life cycle.
• Development and/or implementation of tax technology solutions.
• Database systems (e.g. MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• Good to have: RPA software (Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere, UiPath), business intelligence software (Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI), machine learning with Python and R, web-based solutions, dashboards, and end-to-end maintenance of internal client systems.
