Senior Backend Engineer (Customer Experience)

About the role

The Senior Backend Engineer in the Customer Experience (CX) team will work closely with product designers, product managers, mobile and quality engineering teams to deliver exceptional streaming experiences for millions of users. You will lead key projects such as new API development for Live Sports streaming and shape the architecture of high‑availability services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and own the architecture roadmap for Live Sports and Discover APIs.
• Develop, support, and improve core backend systems with high availability and scalability.
• Formulate low‑latency, scalable technical solutions to meet product requirements.
• Mentor and grow a high‑performing engineering team, establishing best practices in code quality and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals and compliance.
• Leverage AI for task automation and to improve development quality and velocity.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience in server application and system engineering using modern languages.
• Deep expertise in low‑latency, high‑throughput systems, performance profiling, and cost/performance trade‑offs.
• Proficiency with one or more backend languages: Go, Java, JavaScript, Node.js.
• Experience with modern cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
