Senior Cell Leader - Precision Machining

About the role

RTX is looking for a Senior Cell Leader to lead its Operation Department at its Seletar Aerospace View site. The role manages a manufacturing cell and a team of up to 30 technicians, aiming for high-quality, fast and cost-effective delivery while running each cell as a profit/loss unit.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the operation department and manage a team of up to 30 technicians, engaging and empowering supervisors and technicians to meet quality, delivery and cost targets.
• Manage daily, weekly and monthly production commitments and run each cell as a profit/loss cell to hit set KPIs.
• Provide coaching and performance feedback to shop floor staff and review staffing and training needs, including hiring, retention and development.
• Use CORE to drive continuous improvement of quality, speed and cost, and set up standard work for all production processes.
• Develop manufacturing processes, including method instructions, time standards, CNC programming, tooling, fixtures and equipment.
• Take part in new product projects with cost estimation, scheduling and equipment specification with Engineering.
• Support company-wide EHS, quality, export compliance and continuous improvement initiatives, and deploy on shifts as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in precision metal machining and processing and/or assembly of parts in the aerospace industry.
• Proven ability to manage and motivate teams, with strong problem-solving, leadership and communication skills.
• Lean manufacturing or repair experience with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Shift deployment required to support operations as needed.

Preferred skills

• Aerospace, manufacturing or MRO experience.
• CNC programming for milling, grinding, turning and wire cut operations.
• Knowledge of inspection systems such as CMM or advanced blue light inspection.
• SAP or equivalent enterprise systems.
