Senior Claims Specialist - Reinsurance

About the role

MS Amlin is hiring a Senior Claims Specialist for its Asia Reinsurance Claims team in Singapore. The role handles reinsurance claims proactively and efficiently, within authority limits, so that clients, brokers and internal stakeholders receive timely, high-quality service. It is a full-time, permanent position.

Key responsibilities

• Handle reinsurance claims from first notice of loss through settlement, assessing, adjusting, reviewing subrogation and contribution
• Monitor claims to keep best estimate and ultimate losses accurate and settle valid claims promptly while controlling costs
• Ensure claims follow MS Amlin's procedures, controls and regulatory requirements (Lloyd's, FCA, PRA, J-SOX) and meet green Claims KPIs such as diary adherence, SLA response times and accurate records
• Share knowledge with the team, engage underwriters and brokers early on complex claims and flag emerging trends and exposures
• Lead large loss and CAT tracking for the MS AAP operation using dashboards and reporting tools
• Build strong relationships with broker partners and co-insurers, and support reserving discipline, claims data and MI, and triage rules with outsourcing partners
• Contribute to the Claims Value Creation Plan, support reserving and outwards reinsurance recovery, and identify process improvements and subrogation, contribution and salvage opportunities
• Provide claims thought leadership and insights to the reserving process, coach colleagues and act as an ambassador for MS Amlin

Required profile

• Experience in global reinsurance claims handling (casualty lines preferred), with proven relationships with brokers, experts and co-insurers
• Degree or CII or similar professional qualification preferred, or willingness to work toward one
• Strong understanding of Asia (and London) market claims principles and practices
• Willingness to travel and attend client events
• Service-oriented, excellent communicator, relationship manager, strong decision-maker and problem-solver

Required skills

• Proficiency in London Market Claims Systems (e.g. ECF)
• Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel)
• Account and portfolio management experience
