Senior CVD Process Development Engineer - Advanced NAND

About the role

Micron's Singapore Technology Development team is looking for a Process Development Engineer to support the rapid deployment of advanced NAND technology nodes. The Senior Engineer works on Thin Films (CVD/Diffusion) process development, running experiments, characterizing films, troubleshooting process and tool issues and helping transfer processes into manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, optimize and characterize thin film processes (CVD/Diffusion) to meet performance, reliability and manufacturability targets.
• Design and run experiments, analyze data and share results in technical forums.
• Characterize films using techniques such as SEM, TEM, XPS, SIMS and AFM, and link results to process outcomes.
• Support process transfer and pilot line execution, and sustain process maturity for owned processes.
• Work with Process Integration, Metrology, Surface/Characterization labs, Electrical Failure Analysis, Yield, Manufacturing and equipment vendors to deliver robust processes.
• Maintain documentation of experiments, settings and learnings, and write technical reports.
• Use AI-assisted tools responsibly and contribute to continuous improvement by testing and sharing AI-enabled improvements.

Required profile

• PhD, or Master's degree with at least 3 years, or Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics or a related field.
• Demonstrated foundation in thin film deposition and characterization, and readiness for an R&D/PD environment.
• Structured problem-solving, learning agility, clear communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to apply baseline digital fluency and role-appropriate AI literacy to use AI tools responsibly.

Required skills

• Fundamentals of thin film deposition (CVD/Diffusion) and film characterization.
• Basic DOE/SPC and ability to analyze experimental data.
• Understanding of plasma/vacuum systems and process chemistry where applicable.
• Preferred: exposure to dielectric and carbon-based films, and experience with equipment suppliers or tool qualification/transfer.
