Senior Design Engineer

About the role

A global technology company, represented by its recruiter in Singapore, is looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join its Design Engineering team. The company develops electronic products and is now developing new product categories. The engineer guides new products from concept through production, working with a multidisciplinary team and global engineering teams, and is based onsite in Singapore.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of complex product assemblies and subsystems from concept through production, meeting requirements for performance, safety, reliability, quality, cost and timing.
• Turn technical challenges into clear design requirements, specifications and interfaces for interconnected systems.
• Generate, evaluate and refine design concepts through analysis, prototyping, testing and data-driven decisions.
• Identify technical risks and work with cross-functional teams on mitigation plans.
• Build and test functional prototypes to improve performance, robustness and user experience.
• Work with manufacturing, operations and supplier teams so designs are scalable and manufacturable.
• Develop and review 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, tolerance analyses and engineering documentation.
• Contribute to design and technical reviews and coach and mentor junior engineers and graduates.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or a closely related technical field.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in product design and development, ideally in a fast-paced R&D or manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing complex mechanical assemblies and product systems.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and strong problem-solving and communication skills.
