Senior Electrical Engineer - Cleanroom Facilities

About the role

JLL is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer in Singapore to lead the delivery of facility engineering projects and the maintenance and operation of critical facility systems. The role covers the full asset lifecycle, from design review, construction and commissioning through handover and operational readiness, to the safe, reliable and efficient steady-state operation of cleanroom, laboratory, manufacturing, office and related infrastructure. It works closely with client project teams, JLL's Project and Development Services and Integrated Facility Management, client stakeholders and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Plan project scope, schedule, budget and resources, and deliver facility projects safely, on time and within budget
• Act as the lead engineering technical and operations interface, reviewing designs for operability, maintainability and lifecycle cost, and preparing specifications, drawings and operating procedures
• Provide subject-matter expertise on facility systems such as HVAC, process cooling, power distribution and UPS, water and wastewater, fire protection and building management systems
• Manage the interface between base-build systems and process equipment, liaise with clients, consultants, contractors and OEMs, and support procurement
• Support construction phase activities including site inspections, quality walkdowns, RFI responses and commissioning, and witness acceptance tests
• Track costs and capital approvals, ensure health and safety compliance, and review engineering deliverables from others
• Lead handover and operational readiness: build the asset register, configure the CMMS, set up PPM schedules, develop SOPs and alarm procedures, define the spares strategy and manage the defects liability period
• Oversee maintenance and operations: plan preventive and corrective maintenance, approve work permits and lockout/tagout, respond to incidents, manage service vendors and train staff
• Analyse equipment and operations data, report against KPIs and SLAs, and lead lifecycle replacement and capital improvement plans

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• 8+ years of engineering experience in critical facilities such as semiconductor fabs, cleanrooms, data centres, pharmaceutical or advanced manufacturing sites
• At least 5 years in facility operations and maintenance, with direct involvement in construction, commissioning and handover, and a lead or senior engineering role
• Relevant professional engineering registration or statutory competency in the country of operation
• Fluency in the local language and strong spoken and written English; valid driver's licence; flexibility to work 24/7 and travel to account sites

Required skills

• Working knowledge of BMS/FMS and CMMS platforms and MS Office (including MS Project)
• Working knowledge of CAD/Revit is an advantage
• Proven experience leading and mentoring engineers and technicians, and managing maintenance vendors and contractors
• Sound knowledge of building codes, safety regulations and engineering standards

Preferred: semiconductor fab utilities experience, cleanroom construction or certification experience, greenfield project experience, safety certifications (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH), IFM contract experience and project management certification (e.g. PMP).
