Senior Engineer, Automation Engineering

About the role

Resmed is hiring a Senior Engineer, Automation Engineering for its Moulding NPI Engineering team in Singapore. The role develops and implements automation for manufacturing processes, equipment, facilities and documents so that production volume, quality, occupational health and safety and cost requirements are met. It sits within an experienced manufacturing team focused on prototyping, process development and delivery for new product introduction.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement automation solutions, including control systems, PLC programming and integration of automation equipment
• Develop, optimise and maintain PLC and HMI programs (Allen Bradley/Rockwell)
• Program, maintain and troubleshoot robotic systems and integrate them into high-volume manufacturing lines
• Analyse manufacturing processes and implement improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste and improve quality
• Oversee maintenance and troubleshooting of automation equipment and control systems to minimise downtime
• Work with Product Development, production, tooling design and QA teams on automation projects
• Support process validation in a regulated environment, including DQ, IQ, OQ and PQ, and document changes, validations and troubleshooting

Required profile

• B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering (or equivalent)
• At least 8 years of hands-on experience with automated control systems in a high-volume manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming (Allen Bradley/Rockwell)
• Experience with Fanuc robotics programming and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with safety standards (ISO, IEC, OSHA) and networked I/O systems (EtherNet/IP, IO-Link)
• Excellent communication and documentation skills, including technical reports

Preferred qualifications

• Mechanical design skills in SolidWorks, Creo or Siemens NX
• Jigs and fixtures design, material selection and fabrication methods
• Ability to read electrical schematics
• Root cause analysis and issue resolution experience
• Background in medical device manufacturing and Quality Management Systems (QMS)
