Senior Engineer, Civil (Geotechnical)

About the role

AECOM is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer in Singapore to lead the geotechnical design and execution of civil engineering projects, including land reclamation, coastal engineering, shoreline protection, seawalls and related infrastructure. The role also covers overseeing construction activities and ensuring compliance with engineering standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review geotechnical investigation programs, site characterization and laboratory testing
• Prepare and review engineering designs, drawings and specifications
• Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations and risk assessments
• Ensure compliance with local and international engineering standards, codes and regulations
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers, technicians and other team members
• Provide technical guidance and resolve complex engineering challenges
• Oversee construction activities, conduct site visits, inspections and audits, and resolve construction issues promptly
• Integrate sustainable practices and evaluate environmental impacts, recommending mitigation strategies
• Prepare reports, presentations and documentation, and maintain project records such as contracts, permits and progress reports

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering (Master's degree preferred)
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification highly desirable
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on design and project management
• Proven track record of delivering large-scale reclamation or coastal infrastructure projects
• Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Required skills

• Proficiency in engineering software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, AutoCAD or Civil 3D
• Strong knowledge of ground improvement methods, construction materials and industry best practices
