Senior Engineer (Equipment Reliability)

About the role

Amgen is hiring a Senior Engineer (Equipment Reliability) for its Singapore manufacturing site in Tuas. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Engineering Support, the role leads a team that works with System Owners and the Maintenance team to align on reliability best practices and deliver tools, processes and systems that lower asset lifecycle costs while maintaining or improving reliability. It supports Continuous Improvement and innovation, with an emphasis on Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and solve major equipment failures and safety incidents, recommend corrective and preventive actions, and act as a key member of department CI governance.
• Lead inspection-readiness activities such as readiness reviews, walkdowns, evidence preparation, audit response and closure of engineering actions.
• Act as subject matter expert on Asset Life Cycle Management (process equipment and utilities) to support safety and quality compliance.
• Support the equipment reliability strategy, maintain the Equipment Criticality Assessment and implement Reliability Centered Maintenance, including FMEA for high and medium critical assets.
• Provide reliability data for long-range planning, spare parts and maintenance budgeting, and lead projects on predictive maintenance and asset health monitoring.
• Manage change controls, run reliability meetings, own reliability metrics and engage Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and the AMGEN network.

Required profile

• Doctorate, or Master's degree with 2 years of engineering experience, or Bachelor's degree with 4 years of engineering experience, or Diploma with 8 years of engineering experience.
• Proven compliance experience in a highly regulated environment; pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience preferred.
• Ability to lead in a complex matrix environment and communicate complex technical information internally and externally.

Required skills

• Lean/Six Sigma, TPM, Reliability Centered Maintenance, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis and similar continuous improvement methods are desirable.
• Excellent oral and written communication, including executive presentations.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
