Senior Engineer, Frame Engineer

About the role

GlobalFoundries is looking for a highly motivated Senior Engineer, Frame Engineer to join its Tape Out organization in Singapore. The role supports tape out operations, covering frame design for a range of technologies and process improvements that boost productivity and quality. It involves working with Frame worldwide and other engineers who use semiconductor manufacturing tools such as lithography and metrology, and test tools in the Fabs.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily tape-out operations, including technology frame requirements, frame structure layout and generation, ad-hoc change execution, work queue prioritization and work hand-off across global locations.
• Use and customize internal and commercial software tools to improve design productivity, including generating input files that drive automation in the Fab and Mask House.
• Decide in a timely way to hold, escalate, promote or reject tape-out support issues with Fab, Tape-out Logistics Integration and Field Application Engineering teams.
• Work with Application Engineering, Product Engineering, Release Management and Design Enablement to deliver a strong customer tape-out experience.
• Partner with Fab and Technology Development teams to improve efficiency, reduce costs and shorten cycle times.
• Evaluate business processes, document them with failure mode assessments, mitigation plans and detection mechanisms, and act safely in line with EHS&S requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in EE, ECE, CSE, Physics or Mechanical engineering.
• Working knowledge of Unix shells and aptitude to learn domain-specific programming or scripting languages and data formats.
• Ability to communicate and work with a cross-geographic, multicultural global team.
• Analytical problem solving and decision-making skills.

Required skills

• Experience with Cadence Mask Compose is a big plus.
• Experience with Virtuoso, SKILL programming and device layout is a plus.
