Senior Engineer - Mechanical Design

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Engineer – Mechanical Design to lead the creation of 3D mechanical designs and engineering drawings that meet customer requirements. The role involves guiding junior designers, ensuring design quality, and supporting projects from concept through installation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and prepare 3D mechanical designs and detailed drawings using CAD software, adhering to specifications and company standards.
• Review and verify drawings produced by drafters for accuracy, manufacturability and compliance.
• Investigate and resolve design, assembly and fabrication issues during manufacturing and product build.
• Manage design documentation, revisions and project data using design management systems.
• Select standard components and materials, and identify replacements for obsolete parts.
• Provide technical support during machine installation, commissioning, testing and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Purchasing and Sales to support proposals and project execution.
• Lead and mentor junior designers and drafters to ensure timely delivery of high‑quality deliverables.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical system design, preferably in vacuum coating equipment, automation or automotive engine design.
• Proven ability to lead machine design projects from concept to implementation.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, machine design, manufacturing processes and engineering documentation.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills for cross‑functional teamwork.
• Willingness to work on‑site, Monday‑Friday.
