Senior Engineer – PD Advanced Wet Process

About the role

Micron is hiring a Senior Engineer for its Advanced Wet Process process development team. The role develops and optimizes unit wet processes for advanced NAND part types, widens process margins and supports cross-functional integration with manufacturing and technology development teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimize unit wet processes to meet yield and quality requirements of advanced NAND part types.
• Quantify benefits of innovative process and equipment solutions to enable early experimentation and adoption for process margin improvement.
• Initiate and manage experiments to widen process margins and validate manufacturability of next-node solutions.
• Integrate and troubleshoot processes in cross-functional teams driving yield and quality improvement.
• Work with technology development peers on technology choices for upcoming nodes and translate future device needs into clear process requirements.
• Support process development including fundamental research, hardware evaluations and testing, and contribute to IP generation where applicable.
• Take part in supplier engagement workstreams supporting breakthrough solutions.
• Identify process simplification opportunities, incorporate best-known manufacturing methods into early node development, and design monitoring and control methodologies.
• Maintain clear experiment records and technical reports, and adhere strictly to Micron's IP protection policy.
• Use AI-assisted tools responsibly to improve efficiency, quality and analysis, and share AI-enabled improvements with colleagues.

Required profile

• PhD, or Master's degree with at least 3 years, or Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics or a related field.
• Strong foundation in chemistry, chemical kinetics, thermodynamics and mass transport.
• Working knowledge of memory process flows (planar and vertical NAND context).
• Ability to collaborate across functions, communicate concisely and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
• Baseline digital fluency and role-appropriate AI literacy to use AI tools responsibly for research, analysis and problem solving.
