Senior Engineer, PD SG Dry Etch

About the role

Micron is hiring a Senior Engineer for its process development team in Singapore to support advanced NAND dry etch process development. The engineer improves process windows, optimizes recipes and troubleshoots yield and quality issues together with Process Integration and other module teams. The role calls for strong experimental discipline (DOE/SPC), structured problem solving and the ability to turn technology requirements into production-worthy process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform dry etch process development tasks such as process window analysis, recipe optimization and tool continuous improvement evaluation for 3D NAND technology.
• Troubleshoot process issues in cross-functional teams to improve yield and quality, and own assigned improvement opportunities.
• Work with Process Integration and other process development areas (Wet Etch, CVD/Diffusion, Metals, Lithography, CMP) to develop and integrate solutions.
• Carry out root cause and failure mode analysis and work with vendors and suppliers to close hardware and process gaps.
• Support pilot-line execution and process transfer activities as required by program needs.
• Drive process simplification and bring best-known manufacturing methods into early development of upcoming nodes.
• Document experiments, results and learnings, and share progress and risks in technical forums.
• Incorporate AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work, and share AI-enabled improvements within scope.

Required profile

• PhD, or Master's degree with at least 3 years, or Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics or a related field.
• Evidence of strong aptitude for technology development and experimental or data analysis work in a dry etch or semiconductor context.
• Structured problem solving, independent work with minimal direction, and cross-functional collaboration with clear written and verbal communication.

Required skills

• Fundamentals of dry etch processing and at least one of: thermodynamics, transport phenomena, kinetics or plasma physics.
• DOE, statistics and SPC, and comfort with analysis tools.
• Preferred: data science basics and Python scripting.
