Senior / Enrolled Nurse

About the role

NUHS is recruiting a Senior / Enrolled Nurse who works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and within the organisation's endorsed scope of practice, its policies and procedures, and the Singapore Nursing Board's nursing practice and competency standards. The job holder is accountable for their own actions and responsible to the Registered Nurse and employer for all delegated activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Registered Nurse with admission, transfer and discharge of patients, and with monitoring and reporting on patients' conditions and progress, escalating unusual events to the RN.
• Prepare trolleys and equipment for ward-based procedures such as blood cultures, CVP / PICC lines, intra-pleural drains and lumbar punctures.
• Provide perioperative care, including preoperative preparation and moving patients between theatres and endoscopy suites.
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, including rescue ventilation with a bag-valve-mask device and external cardiac massage.
• Attend to patients' activities of daily living such as bathing, feeding, toileting, skin care, lifting, mobilisation and transport.
• Maintain a safe environment using quality assurance and risk management strategies, respect patients' values and beliefs, and demonstrate proper use and care of equipment.
• Perform basic computer updates for patient care, order and handle sterile goods, and take part in continuing professional development, quality improvement and research.

Required profile

• A recognised Enrolled Nurse Certificate or equivalent approved by the Singapore Nursing Board.
• Able to work three rotating shifts.
