Senior Executive / Assistant Manager – Lab Operations & Tech Support

About the role

NTU’s Asian School of the Environment and the Earth Observatory of Singapore are seeking a proactive, detail‑oriented professional to manage laboratory operations and technical support. The role ensures that research labs and office facilities are safe, compliant, and fully equipped to support world‑class scientific work.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance, certification and safe operation of all laboratory equipment in line with OEM and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with service engineers, vendors and contractors for repairs, site surveys and facility‑related works.
• Manage chemical inventory and hazardous waste disposal, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with Singapore safety regulations.
• Plan, conduct and support safety inspections, audits and compliance reviews; maintain audit readiness and close findings promptly.
• Lead investigations of safety incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Deliver safety inductions and training for staff, students and researchers, including fieldwork safety awareness.
• Monitor completion of mandatory online safety modules and maintain emergency response equipment.

Required profile

• Proactive and detail‑oriented professional with strong organisational skills.
• Ability to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders, service engineers, vendors and contractors.
• Experience in laboratory safety, chemical inventory management and regulatory compliance.
