Senior Executive, Vessel IT

About the role

The Senior Executive, Vessel IT ensures reliable, secure, and efficient IT operations across a fleet of vessels. You will support connectivity, onboard systems, cybersecurity, and lead IT projects that enable safe and effective vessel operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 IT support for vessels, covering hardware, software, servers, networks and connectivity issues.
• Monitor and maintain satellite communication and other vessel connectivity systems.
• Install, maintain, upgrade and patch onboard IT equipment.
• Integrate vessel systems with shore‑based and cloud environments.
• Coordinate with vessel crew, helpdesk, shore teams and vendors to resolve incidents.
• Maintain IT asset inventory and technical documentation.
• Support cybersecurity controls, including patch management, endpoint protection and access management.
• Lead planning and execution of vessel IT projects, connectivity upgrades and system implementations, ensuring scope, timeline, budget and quality.
• Assist with audits and ensure compliance with company IT policies and maritime standards.
• Provide basic IT training and guidance to vessel crew.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant IT experience, preferably in maritime or offshore environments.
• Proven ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions.
• Strong documentation and reporting capabilities.
• Willingness to travel to overseas shipyards and board docked vessels as needed.
