Senior Instrument & Control Engineer

About the role

The Senior Instrument & Control Engineer will provide technical support to Production and Maintenance teams, ensuring instrument reliability and compliance with safety standards in an oil & gas or petrochemical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical solutions for instrument‑related issues and reduce maintenance costs.
• Liaise with internal teams and external agencies on gas pipeline, power grid, and metering interfaces.
• Prepare and update maintenance procedures for PLCs, Fire & Gas systems, ESD, metering, CCTV and security equipment.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and implement preventive actions.
• Lead MOC projects to improve instrument reliability from engineering through commissioning.
• Verify, inspect, test and report on electrical and instrument equipment for hazardous areas.
• Support major turnarounds and manage the functional safety lifecycle of SIS.
• Participate in emergency response activities.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years experience in instrument & control maintenance/design in oil & gas or petrochemical plants.
• Familiarity with local codes, regulations and international engineering design standards.
• Experience with functional safety (IEC 61511); certification is a plus.
• Proven experience in installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of complex electrical/instrument/control equipment.
• Knowledge of PLC programming and ability to debug third‑party equipment.
