Senior Manager / Associate Director, General Account Investment - Strategic Projects

About the role

Manulife is hiring a Senior Manager / Associate Director for its General Account Investment team, which sits within the Finance & Business Advisory function. The role delivers special projects and strategic initiatives supporting General Account business and growth in Asia, driving cross-functional project implementation with key stakeholders and delivering business solutions for investment capabilities across Asia.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver special projects and strategic initiatives for General Account business and growth in Asia, ensuring deliverables are completed on time.
• Provide business solutions for investment capabilities across Asia, covering fixed income, private equity, real estate and derivatives.
• Work closely with and manage technology delivery teams to execute strategic projects.
• Prepare analysis and build presentations for senior leadership to support strategic business proposals.
• Lead fund structuring of investment vehicles and help implement General Account Investment considerations in M&A activity.
• Support initiatives on regulatory and tax regime developments, including SFC, MAS, IFRS, capital/solvency reviews and global minimum tax.
• Share responsibility for improving finance, governance and risk matters.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in the asset management or insurance industry.
• Consulting, project management and strategic planning experience, or equivalent, is welcome.
• Education and designation in Finance or Accounting (e.g. CFA, CPA) preferred.
• Understanding of investment structures, asset allocation, risk frameworks and policies; knowledge of the Asia regulatory environment is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently in a growing business.

Required skills

• Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, macros/VBA) and Power BI.
• Strong knowledge of investment operations, derivative trade lifecycle and/or collateral management is highly advantageous.
