Senior Manager – Contracts Management (2‑year contract)

About the role

We are looking for a senior manager to lead contracts management within the Strategy team of NUS Medicine. The role will support the department’s strategic agenda by overseeing contracts that cover funding, technology transfers, equipment and other materials, and by raising contract literacy across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for all contracting needs and triage queries from NUS Medicine staff.
• Advise stakeholders on appropriate pathways, offices and resources to ensure timely and accurate support.
• Guide end‑to‑end contract processes, conduct due diligence, identify risks and enforce compliance.
• Lead or support negotiations for special projects and complex cases.
• Build and maintain dialogue platforms with University offices such as Legal Affairs, Enterprise, TTO/TTI, ODPRT and NUHS RO.
• Develop and deliver training, appoint Contract Liaisons and create learning materials to improve contract literacy.
• Create and maintain a contracting handbook and other contextualised resources, exploring tools such as chat‑bots.
• Promote adoption of the university‑wide contract management system (e.g., ECMS) and ensure proper archival and governance.

Required profile

• Good university degree; a background in science, especially biomedical, is advantageous.
• At least 10 years of experience in an academic or research‑intensive environment.
• Familiarity with technology transfer and research collaboration processes.
• Experience supporting senior clinicians or scientists.
• Strong administrative discipline, attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Pragmatic, service‑oriented attitude with the ability to manage diverse stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Working knowledge of contract management systems (e.g., ECMS).
• Understanding of legal documents and contract structures.
