Health, Safety and Environment Lead

About the role

Air Liquide Singapore Private Limited (ALSg), the largest industrial gas company in south-east Asia, is hiring a Health, Safety and Environment Lead. The role supports site management of plants, premises and workplaces in discharging their statutory duties, especially identifying workplace health, safety, environment and fire safety risks and recommending control measures.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct industrial regulatory audits and implement and manage the company's HSE programs
• Establish HSE procedures based on regulatory and Air Liquide requirements, and maintain ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and SS 651 management systems
• Support sites in their annual MHD follow-up on Intervention Plans (IP) and Revision Plans (RP)
• Walk the talk: conduct safety audits and review RA/MOS/SWP of high-risk activities
• Act as in-house trainer for HSE and IMS training and qualifications, and lead accident and incident investigations and root cause analysis
• Organise company HSE meetings, research and drive HSE best practices, and lead programmes to build a safety mindset culture
• Coordinate emergency preparedness and response plan (EPRP) drills and maintenance of emergency response equipment
• Identify areas for improvement, support the entity's security procedures and stay informed of national situations and group projects affecting operations

Required profile

• Degree in engineering or equivalent
• Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer with the Ministry of Manpower
• Track record of safety management skills
• Ability to interpret complex mandatory regulations and their impact on operations
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to motivate and manage others

Required skills

• Comprehensive understanding of Singapore HSE regulations, concepts and trends
• Well versed in ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and GHS
