Senior Manager - Middle Office Oversight

About the role

Eastspring is a global asset manager with Asia at its core. Its Middle Office Oversight team provides oversight of end-to-end middle office activities across Eastspring Investments, working closely with outsourced service providers to ensure post-trade operational integrity, regulatory compliance and timely delivery. This role acts as Deputy to the Head of Middle Office Oversight, covering all asset classes, and is a key escalation point for operational issues.

Key responsibilities

• Provide oversight of transaction management, derivative operations, corporate actions, reconciliations, client and trade regulatory reporting, and act as escalation point for operational issues.
• Oversee the middle office service provider, including monitoring KPIs, SLAs and delivery commitments; proactively challenge and resolve issues affecting quality, accuracy or timeliness.
• Conduct regular service reviews and prepare performance scorecards for senior management.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, custodians, brokers and service providers to resolve trade-related issues and queries.
• Stay up to date on market, regulatory and industry developments and drive process and control enhancements.
• Maintain, review and update team processes, procedures, operating manuals and checklists, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work with service providers on incident reporting, investigation and remediation, track root causes and ensure preventive measures are applied.
• Escalate material issues to senior management and regulators where required.
• Coach and develop junior team members and contribute to talent management and succession planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in the asset management industry, preferably in a middle office, operations or oversight role.
• Strong understanding of asset management operations and control frameworks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with high attention to detail and a risk and control mindset.
• Proactive, methodical and analytical, able to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines.

Required skills

• Good working knowledge of Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Rates, FX Forwards and Money Market instruments.
• Experience with Aladdin or similar front-to-back investment platforms is preferred.
