Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer leads the creation and optimisation of mechanical systems, components and products. You will apply advanced engineering principles to deliver innovative, high‑quality, cost‑effective and manufacturable solutions while mentoring junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Conceptualise, design and develop mechanical components, assemblies and complete systems.
• Produce detailed 3D models, 2D drawings and technical specifications using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Perform design calculations, simulations, tolerance and GD&T analyses.
• Manage projects from concept through production, defining scope, schedule and deliverables.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, quality and procurement teams.
• Review and approve engineering changes, support prototype testing and validation.
• Investigate failures, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Apply DFM/DFA principles to ensure manufacturability and drive cost‑reduction initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 6‑10+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering.
• Proven track record in product design and development, preferably in automation, robotics or mechatronics.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
