Senior Mechanical Engineer – Defence Product Development

About the role

EOS Innovation Singapore is looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design for defence product development programs. The role involves creating, reviewing and releasing robust mechanical designs that integrate with electronic and optical subsystems while working closely with customers, subcontractors and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design structural elements of moderate‑scale products using modern techniques such as Finite Element Analysis and simulation.
• Produce and manage designs that integrate seamlessly with mechanical, electronic and optical components.
• Apply design‑for‑manufacture principles and knowledge of production processes to create cost‑effective parts and assemblies.
• Identify and incorporate relevant international standards and generate rigorous design documentation.
• Own mechanical verification planning, define test requirements, support prototype builds and review test evidence.
• Generate models and drawings employing Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing to modern standards.
• Participate in design reviews and peer‑review processes across large‑scale projects.
• Manage suppliers and contractors to deliver complex parts and assemblies.
• Transition designs to production teams, supporting manufacture and integration.

Required profile

• Mechanical Engineering degree.
• 5+ years of experience in a modern industrial or defence engineering environment.
• Proven track record of delivering mechanical designs from concept to production.
• Experience working within an engineering and change‑management framework; configuration management experience preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CAD tools such as Creo, NX or SolidWorks.
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and simulation capabilities.
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Design‑for‑manufacture principles and knowledge of manufacturing processes.
