Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Rolls‑Royce’s MTU Power Systems is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide advanced technical support for MTU engines and related systems used in marine and power‑generation applications. The role involves troubleshooting, commissioning, maintenance and project execution to ensure high reliability and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Commission, troubleshoot, maintain and repair MTU engines and associated equipment on‑site.
• Diagnose complex technical issues using structured problem‑solving methods.
• Execute field service and project activities safely and in line with technical standards.
• Support customers with expert recommendations to optimise equipment performance.
• Interpret technical drawings, schematics, manuals and engineering documentation.
• Manage site activities, ensuring timely completion of service assignments and projects.
• Prepare technical reports, service documentation and project updates.
• Identify and propose improvements to service processes, product reliability and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations and commercial teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Provide technical guidance, knowledge sharing and mentoring as required.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Marine or related engineering discipline.
• 5–7 years of hands‑on experience in servicing, troubleshooting, commissioning and project execution of diesel or marine propulsion equipment.
• Proven ability to handle complex technical issues independently.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Willingness to travel locally and regionally.
