Senior Microsoft Teams Phone & Telephony Migration Engineer

About the role

A full-time position for a Senior Microsoft Teams Phone & Telephony Migration Engineer to lead and execute enterprise telephony migrations to Microsoft Teams Phone. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience moving legacy PBX and VoIP systems to Teams Phone, configuring voice connectivity and keeping business communications running with minimal disruption. The role requires working in Singapore Standard Time (UTC+8).

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute migrations from legacy PBX, on-premises telephony or existing VoIP platforms to Microsoft Teams Phone.
• Assess existing telephony infrastructure, including phone numbers, extensions, call flows, SIP trunks, gateways and voice routing.
• Configure Microsoft Teams Phone, Direct Routing, Operator Connect and Calling Plans, and troubleshoot SBCs, SIP trunks, gateways and call-routing policies.
• Manage number porting, user assignments, dial plans, emergency calling, auto attendants and call queues.
• Develop migration plans, test cases, rollback procedures and cutover strategies to minimise downtime.
• Troubleshoot complex voice issues such as call failures, one-way audio, latency, packet loss and SIP signalling errors.
• Coordinate with network teams, telecom providers, vendors and business stakeholders, and validate call quality, security and availability after migration.
• Maintain technical documentation, migration reports and post-migration support procedures.

Required profile

• 5-8 years of experience in enterprise telephony, unified communications or voice infrastructure.
• Strong hands-on experience migrating enterprise telephony systems to Microsoft Teams Phone.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, VLANs, QoS).
• Proven ability to plan cutovers, troubleshoot production issues and execute rollbacks.
• Strong communication, documentation and stakeholder-management skills.

Required skills

• Microsoft Teams Admin Center, Teams PowerShell, SIP, VoIP, SBCs and Direct Routing.
• Preferred: experience with AudioCodes, Ribbon, Cisco, Oracle or other enterprise telephony platforms, Microsoft Teams Phone or M365 certifications, and large-scale enterprise voice migrations.
