Senior Network Engineer

About the role

Airwallex, the AI-native financial operating system used by more than 675,000 businesses, is hiring a Senior Network Engineer for its Singapore office. The corporate network must stay secure, reliable and scalable as the company's global footprint grows, and you will own critical network infrastructure and help shape the systems, practices and team capabilities that support people across regions. You will work from the Singapore office five days a week.

Key responsibilities

• Build the foundations of the corporate network and help shape the team structure and capabilities as the company grows.
• Design, deploy and maintain secure, highly available LAN, WAN, wireless and VPN infrastructure across global offices and regions.
• Design multi-region hybrid network patterns connecting physical offices, data centres and cloud environments, including AWS and Alibaba Cloud.
• Configure and operate global connectivity across international leased lines and domestic internet connections in mixed-vendor environments.
• Lead the configuration and troubleshooting of routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and wireless access points.
• Own CorpNet as first responder and escalation point for complex network incidents, taking them to resolution and completing after-action reviews.
• Partner with CorpSec, ProdSec, Engineering, Product, IT Engineering, Workplace and other teams to integrate network solutions and support business initiatives.
• Work with IT Engineering and IT Support to troubleshoot endpoint network issues and build core networking capability across the team.
• Use infrastructure-as-code and automation, including Terraform and Ansible, to improve network consistency and efficiency.
• Maintain network documentation, evaluate networking technologies, and mentor and coach network engineers.
• Take part in a global follow-the-sun on-call rotation, with occasional after-hours or weekend work for network upgrades.

Required profile

• Senior-level experience designing, implementing and maintaining Juniper and Palo Alto Networks solutions.
• Demonstrated experience in a global, multi-vendor environment (Juniper, Palo Alto, Cisco, Aruba) and with connectivity to mainland China.
• Expert command-line configuration skills, including JunOS and IOS.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field, with five or more years of relevant experience.
• Strong written and verbal English, and ability to make sound decisions with incomplete information.
• Comfortable owning the roadmap and working across time zones with a globally distributed team.

Required skills

• Preferred: Palo Alto Networks GlobalProtect, Prisma and Prisma Cloud.
• Preferred: experience managing or leading a team of network engineers, ideally in a startup or scaling environment.
• Preferred: knowledge of SAML, OAuth, SSO, RBAC, ABAC, PBAC, ACLs and access-management principles.
• Preferred: cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP), SaaS systems, and MDM systems (Kandji, Jamf, Intune).
