Senior Network Engineer (Telecom Networks)

About the role

NCS, an AI tech services company and subsidiary of the Singtel Group, is hiring a Senior Network Engineer in Singapore. As a consultant, you will deliver network project implementation, post-sales consultancy and network maintenance support, especially for LAN, data centre and WAN architectures, and will gradually own the technical design of solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and implement telecom network (LAN and WAN) and security infrastructure projects, working with project team members until commissioning
• Assist the Project Manager with network design, site preparation and risk identification and mitigation
• Configure networks and systems, troubleshoot errors, monitor and test performance, and design technical solutions within scope
• Gather business and application requirements to plan, design, install, test and implement systems according to specifications and service levels
• Apply ITSM/ITIL practices (change, incident, problem, release management, CMDB) and respond to incidents with root cause analysis and status updates
• Implement backup/restore and disaster recovery procedures, and maintain documentation of all implemented networks
• Help prepare proposals and solution presentations, and adopt model-driven telemetry, SDN controllers and intent-based networking
• Contribute to AI-assisted or autonomous network use cases such as proactive fault detection, predictive capacity management and automated remediation

Required profile

• 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience
• Experience implementing and administering switches, routers and firewalls, and advanced routing protocols (BGP, MP-BGP, EIGRP, OSPF)
• Knowledge of MPLS L3VPN, L2VPN, EVPN and segment routing
• Experience with carrier-grade equipment (Cisco ASR9K, NCS5500, N9K, Huawei NE5000E, NE40E, Juniper MX2000, MX960) is an advantage
• CCIE/HCIE/CCNP or similar certifications preferred
• Analytical troubleshooting skills and familiarity with multiple vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Huawei)

Required skills

• Network automation and scripting (Python preferred)
• Ansible, Terraform or equivalent automation/orchestration tools
• SDN controllers, telemetry and streaming data (advantage)
• AI/ML concepts applied to networking or autonomous networking frameworks (highly desirable)
