Senior Payroll Manager – APAC

About the role

Anthropic is expanding its Finance team in Singapore and seeks a Senior Payroll Manager to lead APAC payroll operations. You will own end‑to‑end payroll processing for multiple countries, ensure compliance with local regulations, and partner with cross‑functional teams to deliver accurate and timely payroll services.

Key responsibilities

• Execute full‑cycle payroll for APAC entities including India, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Singapore and future expansions.
• Support the rollout of payroll to new jurisdictions such as New Zealand and additional APAC markets.
• Collaborate with Corporate Accounting on month‑end payroll journal entries and reconciliations.
• Maintain compliance with local tax and employment laws across all payroll jurisdictions.
• Manage relationships with third‑party payroll providers and respond to employee payroll inquiries.
• Partner with the equity team to process stock‑option exercises.
• Resolve international tax notices and work with People, Tax, Global Mobility and Finance to address payroll discrepancies.
• Prepare international payroll reports and analytics for senior management.
• Lead payroll system integration projects and drive process automation using Workday and PwC Global Payroll Platform.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 10+ years of payroll operations experience, with at least 5 years in international payroll.
• Proven expertise in processing regular, off‑cycle, severance, taxable benefits and equity compensation.
• Strong knowledge of international payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
• Experience with payroll journal entries, account reconciliations and month‑end close procedures.
