Senior Podiatrist (Musculoskeletal)

About the role

National University Hospital (NUHS) in Singapore's Western Cluster is looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and motivated podiatrist to join its Podiatry team. The successful candidate will have post-graduate experience and training in musculoskeletal and biomechanical conditions of the lower limb, working both within a team and autonomously as a resource of expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Autonomously assess, diagnose and manage patients with a wide range of medical and podiatric conditions, and refer appropriately for acute musculoskeletal and high-risk foot presentations
• Recommend diagnostic tests such as bloods and x-rays and interpret the results
• Take part in multidisciplinary case conferences with specialists such as orthopaedics, rheumatology and sports medicine
• Manage or help manage a clinical area, including scheduling and capacity
• Work in wound care, nail surgery and prevention clinics, and mentor students
• Educate other health care professionals through practical workshops on musculoskeletal conditions of the foot
• Take part in professional development, clinical supervision, clinical research and quality improvement projects
• Review and update clinical protocols and SOPs, and contribute to or lead in-service training and educational talks
• Line manage staff in a specified workgroup

Required profile

• Recognised degree in Podiatry; post-graduate degree in a relevant area preferred
• Post-graduate experience and training in musculoskeletal/biomechanical conditions of the lower limb
• Experience supervising junior colleagues preferred
• Excellent time management, communication and organisational skills
• Empathy, resilience, methodical approach and problem-solving ability

Required skills

• Shockwave therapy and pressure plate gait analysis software are beneficial, with full training provided
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
