Senior Principal Medical Affairs, BDI Surgery CASAJ

About the role

Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD), a global medical technology company, is hiring a Senior Principal Medical Affairs professional for its BDI Surgery CASAJ business unit, based in Singapore. The role works closely with scientific and clinical experts and business partners, and involves frequent travel, mainly within the CASAJ region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop strategic partnerships with scientific, clinical experts and business partners such as associations and government bodies, based on clinical and scientific data.
• Share timely feedback on emerging clinical and scientific trends and opportunities with internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development and execution of regional medical meetings such as advisory boards, symposia and investigator meetings.
• Help shape local tactical plans and provide innovative insights and recommendations from the local level.
• Collaborate across business teams, Managed Markets, Medical functions and marketing, and share best practices.
• Assess education and research needs with cross-functional teams.
• Assist in identifying investigators and sites for company-sponsored clinical trials.
• Design and manage BD-sponsored post-market studies, investigator-sponsored studies and research collaborations.
• Take part in management and leadership meetings, and provide customer insights and competitive intelligence.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent) and at least 5 years of clinical experience in the medical device industry, with some surgery-specific experience.
• Global exposure and understanding of the medical device space.
• Management and business experience including talent management and budget accountability.
• Fluent spoken and written English, and the ability to understand legally and technically written standards, regulations and procedures.
• Willingness to travel frequently, around 60% of the time, primarily within the CASAJ region.
